Every year, we organise a multitude of marketing activities for our client, the Consorzio del Prosciutto di Parma. However, one of our favourites has to be the Parma Ham Specialist programme, where we work with 31 delis across the country, distributing promotional materials and leaflets for display in their shops.
This programme provides a unique opportunity to reach many more people than we would be able to from our offices in London, positioning Parma Ham as a firm favourite amongst target consumer audiences. In return for their invaluable support in promoting Parma Ham, each participating deli gets a spotlight on social media and the chance to be crowned the Parma Ham Specialist deli of the year.
This year, the competition was fierce, with all participating delis distributing a questionnaire about Parma Ham, encouraging both new and returning customers to do their part in helping them win the (Ducal) crown.
One month after promotion, the results have officially been received and ... Umberto's Deli is the Parma Ham Specialist Deli of the Year 2019!
Their celebration will take place on Friday 22nd November Umberto's Deli in Thame, where a representative from the Consorzio del Prosciutto di Parma will present the team with their award. Umberto Della Valle, owner of Umberto's Deli, has also won a 1-night stay in London for 2, with a delicious dinner at popular restaurant, Bocca di Lupo.
Giving Umberto's a run for their money was London deli, Macfarlane's, found on Abbeville Road in Clapham, who are this year's runner-up. They have won a Parma Ham sampling day in November.
